Popis: The use of nanotechnology and nanomaterials has increased significantly in many branches of industry. The same situation is in the field of coating systems where certain kinds of nanomaterials can be used to influence some properties of particular types of coatings. As concerns organic coatings, carbon nanoparticles are used as an additive with the aim to improve certain properties such as corrosive resistance, firmness, adhesiveness or to create a coating system with absolutely specific properties such as wear-resistance or conductivity. This article is about the use of multiwall carbon nanotubes with the aim to improve wear-resistance of various types of coating systems based on epoxy resins and evaluation of their suitability for creating nanocomposite coating materials.
