Popis:	Several key moments of the knowledge exchange between Zagreb Faculty of Architecture and international epicentres of architectural culture profoundly affected local architecture. One of the most important exchanges was participation of Zagreb Faculty of Architecture at the ILA&UD led by Giancarlo de Carlo. Leading teachers and some of the most talented students of the Zagreb Faculty of Architecture contributed to the ILA&UD between 1979- 81 in Urbino. Giancarlo de Carlo’s interests overlapped with some of the central themes which marked the social landscape of socialist self- managed Yugoslavia. ILA&UD topic of “participation” seemed to be especially apt for the Zagreb Faculty of Architecture and triggered design-based research.
