Two sections of a major highway in Croatia were tested at 462 locations by the spectral-analysis-of-surface-waves (SASW) method. The testing was a part of an investigation programme for the reconstruction project of the highway. SASW testing was conducted to determine the layering and the profiles of shear wave velocities of the pavement structure and its subgrade from the surface to the depth of 3 m. Experience gained during the testing is briefly described. The layering determined by SASW method compares well to that detrmined in investigation pits by visual inspection. |
