Popis: Diversity management as a new approach in human resources management deals with maximizing human potentials arising from diversity. The main research question of the paper is: Why local diversity management policies should be developed and what are the benefits? The paper first presents the evolution of the concept of diversity management and selected research findings. Furthermore, the presence of different diversity management measures and diversity charters are analysed in all EU countries. Based on that and selected good European practices, the recommendations for Croatian local units are offered.
