Introduction: Several studies have shown that differences in pharmacists' competency level depend on their sociodemographic characteristics such as age, gender, educational level, length of working experience, etc.. Aim: The aim of this study was to explore the association between the community pharmacists- preceptors' sociodemographic characteristics and their self-assessed competencies by using the Croatian Competency Framework (CCF). Subjects and methods: Community pharmacists- preceptors, providing support and mentoring to students-trainees within the Professional training for pharmacists, were included in this study. Data were collected by using the CCF, a validated tool for assessment and self-assessment of community and hospital pharmacists, between October 2015 and February 2017. Community pharmacists-preceptors self-assessed their competencies at the beginning of their mentorship and delivered them by e- mail. Participants' sociodemographic characteristics were obtained from community pharmacists- preceptors' database (age, gender, educational level, length of working experience in a community pharmacy, location and type of community pharmacy). Results: Final study analysis included 254 respondents (F: 233 ; M: 21). The response rate was 86, 69 %. Community pharmacists-preceptors with additional postgraduate education perceived themselves significantly more competent in competencies pertaining to the cluster Pharmaceutical public health competencies" (t=-2, 175 ; p< 0, 05).
