Popis: Many recent investigations tried to establish the optimum of occlusal relations that can be considered in natural teeth correction or in prosthetic rehabilitation. Objective of investigation: Considering that it still doesn't exist a complete atcordance about optimal occlusion, the main task of this research is to bring new comprehension of optimal occlusion by clinical examination of eugnatic examinees. The objective of investigation is to establish eventual differences between the retruded contact position and intercuspal contact position in certain type of occlusal conception. Methods: In the research there were examined 213 eugnatic examinees, the mean age was 23.9 (SD 3.19) years (range 19 - 40 years of age). Clinical examination and clasificated established the type of occlusal conception as canine guidance and group function. RKP position was fixed by Lucia jig. Results: In the examined group 48.45 % examinees had the canine guidance, 51 .55 % unilateral occlusal balance. Between the position of maximal intercuspidation and centric relation in 88.2 % examinees the difference was established. Average value of difference between RKP and IKP is 0.78 mm. In examinees with canine guidance the value was 0.61 ± ; ; ; ; 0.14 mm, and in examinees with group function 0.94 + 0.07 mm. The difference is statistically significant (t = 5.777, p = 0.00048). Conclusion: The value of the sliding of the mandibule from the position centric relation to maximal intercuspidation is significantly smaller with the subjects who had cuspid protected occlusion.
