Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which the foot and the ankle are loaded more than in any other sport. This especially happens because physical demands on a preferred leg increase significantly. This study aimed to evaluate the differences in foot morphology between the elite and sub-elite RG athletes, as well as to check for differences in feet measures between the dominant and non-dominant feet. Eighteen girls (11 years old) from one Croatian RG club participated in the research and were divided into two groups: the A program (elite) and the B program (sub-elite). Several feet morphology variables were measured for both left and right foot: range of motion in the ankle joint (plantar and dorsal flexion), rélevé height, and the Achilles tendon angle. The occurrence of pain and injuries was also documented. Results showed significant differences between A & B programs (elite and sub- elite athletes) in observed variables. Bonferroni’s post-hoc test revealed significant differences in right foot rélevé and left foot dorsal flexion. The only significant difference between left and right foot was found in the elite group of athletes in the dorsal flexion variable (p |
