The first exhibition of the Slovenian Artists´ Society was organizied in 1900 in Ljubljana. It gathered 31 Slovenian artists, most of whom lived in Ljubljana at the time, with a few eminent one residing in Munich or Vienna. At the time, with 186 paintings and sculptures exhibited, it was the largest exhibition ever held in Ljubljana. Thanks to the intense contacts between Slovenian and Croatian artists, members of the Slovenian Artists´ Society participated in the Second Exhibition of the Society of Croatian Artists, held in the Art Pavilion in Zagreb in 1900/1901. |
