Popis: Background and Aim: According to the moral foundations theory (Haidt & Joseph, 2004), there are several moral foundations developed through the process of evolution that explain differences in moral reasoning. The literature so far shows that political attitudes predict moral foundations, but the contribution of personality and religious orientations to moral foundations has been insufficiently studied in Croatian culture. Therefore, this research aims to examine how political attitudes, religious orientations, and personality dimensions contribute to individualizing and binding moral foundations. Method: The paper analyzes the data of 256 students (104 men, 151 women) in Zagreb who are religious and sometimes participate in religious ceremonies/gatherings. The average age of the students was 22.54 years (SD = 8.59). Data were collected in 2019 using the paper-pencil method, and the following instruments were used: MFQ, NEO- FFI, Political Attitudes Questionnaire, Religious Orientations Questionnaire, and Demographic Data Questionnaire. Results: Two hierarchical regression analyses were conducted, with gender included as a predictor in the first step of the analysis, political attitudes in the second, religious orientation in the third, and personality dimensions in the fourth step. Female gender, higher quest orientation, higher intrinsic religious orientation, and higher extraversion predict greater endorsement of the individualizing moral foundations. Also, higher social conservativism and higher intrinsic and extrinsic personal religious orientation predict binding moral foundations. Conclusion: The obtained results expand the knowledge of the role of religious orientations and personality in moral reasoning.
