The study presents the possibility of reducing pumping energy by installing the selfsuction unit into the central cooling system of the ship's machinery. It describes the unit itself and its installing in the ship's engine room. It points out the advantages of the unit, but also mentions with scoop unite as its integral part is proposed, and its functioning both combination with the sea pump and without it is described. Finally, the study defines the main parameters for the right choice of a self-suction unit, an essential factor for achieving an optimum cooling process. |
