Popis: The amide conjugates of 1, n-disubstituted ferrocenes and amino acids are well known for their ability to adopt the turn or -sheet-like structures [1-5], owing to the turn-inducing capacity of ferrocene scaffolds. Amide-to-ester substitutions in the peptide backbone have proven to be a good tool for evaluating of backbone hydrogen-bonding behaviour of the so-derived depsipeptides [6-7]. Herein, we describe the synthesis of depsipeptide analogue of the previously reported ferrocene peptides [2, 4]. The influence of the amide-to-ester substitution on the conformational properties of the depsipeptide 1 is explored by IR, NMR and CD spectroscopy.
