Popis: This thesis deals with surface electromyography, which includes measurement, acquisition, processing and application of the emg signals. An emg system used for emg signals acquisition is designed, developed and tested. The design of bioamplifier is of particular significance in sense of noise reduction. Therefore, the low noise instrumentational amplifier with high CMRR of 130dB is chosen for the preamplifier. Processing of emg signals was performed by using several filtering methods, including wavelet based noise removal. Analysis of emg signals was focused on detection of muscle activation intervals during gait. The proposed method for detecting muscle activity is based on maximum voluntary contraction and application of thresholding. As the case example of the application of emg signals in biomechanics, the analysis of movement during gait was performed. The inverse dynamics approach which uses Newton-Euler’ s equations was implemented and joint forces and moments were calculated. Kinematic data, measured at the Laboratory of Biomedical Engineering and Robotics, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, were used as input data for the calculation of moments. Finally, the comparison of joint moments and emg signals of the dominant leg muscles was done in order to identify the influence of particular muscles in generation of movement.
