Popis: Balanced daily intake of quality food is very important for normal functioning of the organism. Proper diet that provides optimal proportions of nutrients, particularly fats, is one of the preconditions for reductions of cardiovascular disease’s risk caused by atherosclerosis. Advantages of any form of physical exercise are numerous and aerobic exercises have positive impact on cardiovascular system. The objectives of the paper are: to identify respondents’ attitudes regarding proper diet and physical exercises on cardiovascular system and to define respondents’ awareness concerning potential connection between nutrition and cardiovascular health. To determine the attitude of the respondents from a large set of parameters that interact with each other, multivariate statistical methods were applied. Principal component analysis was used to determine the similarities and differences of attitudes of respondents that regularly exercise, and those that do not. Results have shown that the great majority of respondents are aware of positive impact of proper diet (96%) and physical exercise (98%) to the cardiovascular health. Respondents emphasize negative impact of fast food (86%), fats (34%), carbohydrates (24%) and salt (22%). According to the results of the research physical exercise has positive impact related to the level of cholesterol and triglyceride in the bloodstream (96% and 92%) and reduction of blood pressure (96%).
