Popis: For many years, charging and discharging of oil tankers or other marine vessels (yachts, motor boats and other vessels that use hydrocarbon fuels) arises the problem of hydrocarbon spills of smaller or larger quantities into the sea. These spills usually spread out quickly moving even beyond borders of ports, resulting in pollution of maritime systems. The same problem arises during accidental situations regarding hydrocarbon marine transport. Removal of spilled hydrocarbons from the sea surface is extremely complex and expensive, depending upon various factors. Nowadays there are several possible solutions suggested regarding booms types, but none of the suggested completely met all the criteria needed for prevention of spreading of the spilled oil. One of the main disadvantages of presently suggested solutions was the necessity of using tugboats or other suitable vessels for placing the booms that surround the tanker or boat at the dock or place of accident, and its removal. The problem of placing the booms could be solved by installation of bounded self- rising boom. When not activated the self- rising boom is immersed to a certain depth, so it allows easy access of tanker/ boat to the port and it also visually does not affect appearance of the port. This kind of maritime protection system in ports with self- rising booms eliminates the need for tugboats of other vessels usually used for placing the protection boom around tanker/boat during their charge/ discharge. The application of this kind of protection system does not shorten recharge time, but allows maximum maritime protection in ports.
