Zlatko Bourek (Požega 1929 – Zagreb 2018), Croatian sculptor, painter, graphic artist, illustrator, cartoonist ; theatrical scenery and costume designer, director ; animated film, puppet and mask maker. In the puppet performances which linked to his name, he assumed all the tasks of director, scenerey and puppet designer. His work left an indelible mark in the field of puppetry both in Croatia and abroad. In addition to Hamlet, which enjoyed worldwide success, it is mainly the unique Japanese kuruma ningyo puppet movement he often used that will always come to mind. |
