Popis: Magnetorheological elastomer materials were developed using natural rubber, thermoplastic and RTV silicone elastomers as the matrix material. Three different iron powders were used as filler materials. The mechanical properties of prepared composites were tested in dynamic cyclic compression. In preliminary mechanical tests, the silicone elastomer matrix proved to be the best material of these three candidates. This material was selected for further experiments to study how the mechanical characteristics of the material change when it is subjected to a magnetic field. The paper describes first steps and preliminary results of this material development.
