Specific recognitionof β‐peptide helices can be achieved by the incorporation of nucleo‐β‐amino acids in every third position of β‐peptide oligomers. Pairing complexes (see picture) are formed with extraordinary high stabilities in aqueous buffer. A major contribution comes from the high preorganization of the nucleobases by the 14‐helix backbone. |
