Abstrakt: Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis was applied to the four fish families in Egypt: Cichlidae (freshwater), Mugilidae (Catadromous), Sparidae (marine). Twenty random primers were used to assay polymorphisms within and among these families. Different RAPD fragment patterns were observed. Results demonstrated that there are great differences among the first three families. Also, the genetic difference within each family can be observed. Evidence is presented about RAPD marker useful for systematic investigation among and within different families, which live under different degrees of water salinities.
