| Abstrakt: | The deoxygenation, at C2, of methyl 3-acetylamino-4,6-O-benzylidene-3- deoxy-α-D-glucoside is described, and the subsequent conversion of the product into 3-acetylamino-2,3-dideoxy-D-arabino-hexose. Attempts at further deoxygenation (at C6), even the use of trifluoroacetylamino derivatives, were unsuccessful. |
