| Abstrakt: | Reaction of formaldehyde with 2,2′-dihydroxy-3,3'-di-tert-(-butyldiphenylmethane (1) in basic media affords calix[4]arenes 2 or dihomomonooxacalix[4]arenes 3 depending on the solvent (xylene or Cl2CHCHCl2). Temperature dependent 1H-NMR studies of compounds 3 are reported. |
