Abstrakt: Abstract. We study Cauchy problem for diagonalized system of nonlinear hyperbolic equations of first order. The uniqueness and existence theorem is obtained by the successive approximation method by using the similar theorems for single equation. We get the solution of evolution type in the space $L_2^\infty ({\text{R}}^n ).$ The quasilinear diagonalized system introduced by B. Riemann was solved as a typical case.
