Abstrakt: Benzynes generated by the reaction of o-(trimethylsilyl)aryl triflates with TBAT participate in intramolecular [4 + 2] cycloadditions with conjugated enynes, arenynes, and dienes to furnish highly condensed polycyclic aromatic compounds.
