By-demonstration programming attempts to generalize algorithms by observing brief example demonstrations. These example demonstrations are usually repeated sequences of selecting several objects and then applying some action to the selected objects. In generalizing these demonstrations, it is the selections which prove difficult. Approaches to generalizing selection range from strict positional interpretations to heuristic-based inference schemes. These approaches often are not visual and not by demonstrational. |
