Abstrakt: Abstract:Samuel C. Hamilton was a pioneer Mason Valley, Nevada farmer and Pony Express rider. In April 1860 he was first rider from Sacramento on the initial eastbound run of the Pony Express and approximately 9 days later rode the final leg of the first westbound relay into Sacramento. The author explains the confusion in the newspaper reports surrounding his exploits. Samuel C. Hamilton is buried in Mason Valley at the Yerington Valley View Cemetery.
