A compact three-port ultrawideband multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with high isolation is presented. A semi-open X-shaped slot antenna is fed by a T-shaped microstrip line to realize ultrawideband performance. Then, two L-shaped slot antennas are embedded into the designed X-shaped slot antenna to attain MIMO performance. It is worth highlighting that the loading of the L-shaped slot antennas does not increase the size of the X-shaped slot antenna, nor does it affect the antenna performance. Additionally, a decoupling scheme including two pairs of open-end slots is used to notably improve the isolations among the ports. By employing this method, a compact three-port MIMO antenna is designed. It has an ultrawide bandwidth of 115%, covering 1.70 GHz to 6.31 GHz for the reflection coefficient <−10 dB. The isolations among the ports are beyond 20 dB. |
