Abstrakt: Applicon was the first company to offer cost-effective CAD/CAM hardware/software solutions for electronic printed and integrated circuit boards. This story of Applicon’s early years is told from the author’s perspective as one of its founding partners. He describes his personal background, the company’s founding in 1969, and its growth over the following 12 years until it was sold to Schlumberger in 1981.
