Abstrakt: •Eleven CPPs were identified in the rice genome and classified into three clades based on their phylogenetic relationships with CPPs from other plants.•OsCPP genes possess ten conserved amino acid motifs, TCR and TCR superfamily domains, and promoter sequences with hormone and light-sensitive cis-regulatory elements.•Specific OsCPP genes, including OsCPP9, are activated by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, suggesting their involvement in rice defense mechanisms against bacterial leaf blight.
