Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the cervix is a rare and aggressive form of cervical cancer with limited treatment guidelines. It is known for early recurrences and poor prognosis. This report presents two cases of advanced sarcomatoid carcinoma. Both patients were treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. One patient, with FIGO stage IIB, experienced tumor recurrence and passed away 10 months after diagnosis, despite treatment. The second patient, with FIGO stage IIIB, received a combination of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery. She has remained disease-free for 17 months after a completion hysterectomy for residual cancer. Immunohistochemistry was essential for diagnosis, with markers like P40, p63, and vimentin confirming the tumor’s characteristics. Sarcomatoid carcinoma is challenging to treat, but early and aggressive therapy can improve outcomes. These cases highlight the importance of a multimodal approach, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery, to control the disease. Reporting of such cases can help guide future treatment strategies for this rare cancer. |
