Abstrakt: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a neurological movement illness that gets worse with time. Parkinson’s disease is characterised by the progressive degeneration or death of neurones, which are brain nerve cells. Effective treatment of diseases depends on early identification. Photonic crystal sensors are widely used for the detection of various diseases. In this work we report, design and analysis of Two-dimensional (2D) Photonic Crystal (PC) biosensor for the detection of Parkinson’s disease. The structural parameters of the proposed design are fine tuned to increase the sensor efficiency. A very high sensitivity of 20.93 μm/RIU was achieved for the proposed design. The obtained results show that the suggested design makes a substantial contribution to Parkinson’s disease detection for early diagnosis.
