Abstrakt: Cultural heritage organizations produce a vast quantity of heterogeneous datasets that are often held inside their walls; sometimes, they are not easily accessible for technological and organizational reasons. This increases when dealing with textile collection-based institutions that are usually small or medium-sized with a lack of resources or expertise to deal with the current digital trend. This paper shows the results of the SILKNOW H2020 project from involvement with museums housing textile collections, with the goal of helping them improve their digital asset management. This was done through three workshops held with forty museums and textile institutions and a qualitative survey with thirty-one institutions, with the aim of developing a compendium of Best Practices for Textile Collections about Documentation and Digital Data Curation, together with recommendations for future developments.
