Abstrakt: The advantages of rubber-dam use reported in the literature are known as isolation, protection from aspiration risk, a clean working area, soft tissue protection and reduction of infectious pathogens. In pediatric dentistry, discomfort during the application of the rubber-dam-clamp often occurs. This study aimed to investigate the effect of topical-anesthesia EMLA (eutectic mixture of local anesthetics, 2.5% lidocaine, and 2.5% prilocaine) and infiltration-anesthesia (4% articaine) on objective and subjective parameters of stress during rubber-dam-clamp placement.
