Brodie syndrome consists in a transverse occlusal discrepancy leading to lateral scissors bite. This malocclusion is usually treated by orthodontics alone in children. In adults, additional orthognathic surgery is often required. Otherwise, in this clinical case, orthodontic treatment was unsuccessful for the patient, hence the need for implant therapy associated with a posterior segmental osteotomy (PSO) to restore functional occlusion. |
