Abstrakt: | As a result of increased success with pediatric transplantation, there has been an increased demand for donor organs from small children, infants and newborns. There are several differences in the determination of brain death between the adult and the infant and newborn. The controversial medical issues and difficulties in brain death declaration in children, and the medical and ethical controversies of the anencephalic donor are reviewed in this article. |
