Achyranthes aspera(Apamarga) and Trachyspermum ammi(Ajwain) have been used in many clinical conditions, and it displays valuable properties as an alternative to Chlorhexidine (CHX) in the management of gingivitis. Therefore, this study aims to assess the effect of Achyranthes asperaand Trachyspermum ammi(AA + TA) based herbal mouthwash, 0.2 % CHX, and placebo mouthwash on gingival health, plaque control and antibacterial activity against specific periodontal pathogens (Porphyromonas gingivalisand Tannerella forsythia) using quantitative real-time PCR (RT-PCR). |
