Self focusing of q-Gaussian laser beams in collisional plasma with axial density ramp: effect of Ohmic heating

Abstrakt: This paper investigates the phenomenon of self focusing in collisional plasmas with a axial density ramp, specifically utilizing q-Gaussian laser beam. The interplay between the unique characteristics of q-Gaussian laser beam and the varying plasma density along the beam propagation axis introduces intriguing dynamics. Variational theory has been employed to explore the evolution of beam width of the laser beam along the propagation axis. Impact of various parameters like ‘q’parameter of the laser beam, plasma density and initial laser intensity on extent of self focusing of the laser beam has been investigated in detail.
