Exploring the driving forces behind healthcare provider adoption of e-health technology

Abstrakt: This study aimed to investigate the factors influencing the adoption of e-health technology in India. The study employed a descriptive survey design and structured questionnaires to evaluate the impact of individual, clinical and organisational factors on adopting the proposed system. The study underscores the importance of intrinsic motivation factors in influencing physicians to adopt and sustain EHT systems. Moreover, the study highlights the critical role of accessibility of medical records, healthcare provider-patient relationship and patient accessibility in disseminating EHT. The study's theoretical model expands our understanding of how individuals make decisions and accept technology, emphasising the relevance of personal factors such as self-efficacy, personal innovativeness and compatibility. The practical implications of this study are that managers must prioritise improving individual, clinical and organisational aspects of e-health to facilitate adopting the system.
