Abstrakt:	•Four sub-profiles can be identified through cluster analysis with distinct dissociative and traumatic experiences, one profile of which could be explained by repeated trauma.•Dissociative symptoms are present in 50 % of cases of intimate partner violence.•25 % of those who experience intimate partner violence are at greater risk of suicide.•Dissociative symptoms may be present without traumatic symptoms.
