Abstrakt: Automated activated clotting time (ACT) is utilized as the primary means of assessing anticoagulation status for cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) procedures. Influences on the clotting cascade during CPB such as hypothermia, hemodilution, and platelet dysfunction are known to affect ACT.
