Abstrakt: The development of pharyngo-cutaneous fistulae after surgical treatment of laryngo-pharyngeal tumours is common complication, having an incidence of 9.6% in partial laryngo-pharyngectomy (Dedo et al, 1975). It causes local effects which distress the patient, but it may cause other symptoms including dysphagia (Balfe et al, 1982). It is also important as those who develop pharyngo-cutaneous fistulae are three times more likely to develop a recurrence of the primary disease (Balfe et al, 1982).
