| Abstrakt: |
1. Longitudinal folds were noted in five children and three adults from approximately 5,200 examinations in the combined departments of a children's and an adult hospital.2. In children the conclusion that the folds are due to a redundancy in a system which has been overstretched in the past is drawn. Reflux is the likeliest cause.3. In the adults the occurrence was noted far less frequently and a combination of factors such as obstruction and inflammation is likely. |
