Measurements of hepatic blood flow have been made in patients before and after the intravenous injection of Biligrafin. Biligrafin alone did not produce any change in blood flow. The addition of hypertonic glucose solution produces a significant increase in hepatic blood flow. In the latter case, the hepatic uptake of Biligrafin and the concentration of Biligrafin in the bile were also increased. It is therefore suggested that the administration of glucose with Biligrafin should increase the degree of opacification within the biliary tree. |
