Abstrakt: The loss in density which occurs in chest films during the process of drying has been measured, the amount of the loss is related to the original density. This loss can be compensated for by soaking the film in a denaturing agent before development. Microphotographs of wet and dry film both treated and untreated show the changes in the shape and deposition of the silver grains.
