Ultrasonic observation of abnormal pulsation in a fetus coexisting with a hydatidiform mole

Abstrakt: Hydatidiform mole with a coexistent fetus is estimated to occur as rarely as one in 10000 to one in 100000 pregnancies (Jones and Lauersen, 1975). The use of grey-scale ultrasonography in their diagnosis has been documented previously (Cunningham et al., 1977; Barone, 1977; Ballas, et al., 1977).The case reported here is of particular interest as abnormal pulsation (Fig. 1), arising from within the fetus (Fig. 2), was recorded on two occasions six days apart.
