Abstrakt: The techniques of catheter cerebral angiography via the femoral arteries have been described on the basis of 422 examinations performed at Kyushu University. Success rate of selective studies is 95·9 per cent for vertebral angiography and 97·4 for carotid angiography. Incidence of complications have been evaluated in a prospective manner with seven neurologic, two general, and two local complications being encountered. Major advantages of this technique include multivessel cerebral angiograms viaa femoral catheter, selective examination of vertebral, internal and external carotid arteries and rapid and easy application on infants and children. This technique should be used more widely in selected cases to obtain studies of higher quality.
