A direct-reading instrument incorporating an electrometer valve and a flexible evacuated lead for the measurement of ionization currents as small as 10-13amperes in ?-ray therapy is described. The difficulty of battery fluctuations is discussed, and the method employed for its elimination is also described. The method of calibration of the instrument and some of its more important applications are briefly indicated. |
