Abstrakt: (BJOG. 2023;130:15–23)The most common nutritional disorder worldwide is iron deficiency (ID). Iron is vital for many bodily functions, so when women who are pregnant suffer from ID they are more likely to experience complications during pregnancy as well as deliver babies at risk for neonatal complications. It is estimated that about 47% of women suffer from ID during pregnancy even though it is a treatable disorder. Intravenous iron (IVI) has been proven to help pregnant women who are nonresponsive to oral iron intake. This study compared the effects of 2 different doses of IVI in pregnant women.
