•There is a statistically significant relationship between specific epidemiological characteristics and the frequency of relapses in patients with Multiple sclerosis.•More than 60 % of patients with MS use traditional and complementary medicine;•Almost half of the patients surveyed received a diagnosis following urgent access to health facilities.•The main clinical symptoms that patients experience are fatigue, cognitive issues, and spasticity;•Almost half of patients use Interferon beta-1a and Azathioprine as disease-modifying therapies. |
