The effect of temperature on the rate of development of Trissolcus oenonewas determined by rearing individuals on eggs of Biprorulus bibaxBreddin under a range of constant temperatures (12.5–5.0°C). Rates of development changed in a linear fashion over a wide range of temperatures. The lower developmental threshold was estimated to be 12.4°C and an estimated 165.5 degree‐days were required for egg‐adult development. Survival of developing parasitoids ranged between 60–90% at most temperatures. Wasps produced progeny at all temperatures between 15–35°C and total production of offspring ranged from 55.9–163.1. Greatest fecundity occurred at 17.5, 22.5 and 25°C. Longevity did not differ between virgin and mated females and was greatest at 17.5°C (46.7 d) and least at 32.5°C (11.7 d). |
