Abstrakt: •A novel and simple approach to develop bioactive surfaces on 3D printed sintered titanium scaffolds, designed for maxillofacial applications.•The method especially is developed to reduce the procedural complexity of the traditional surface engineering methodologies.•The morphology of the human stem cells on the surface activated peptide grafted scaffolds was found to be intact.•In vivoassessment of the peptide grafted scaffolds had shown evidence of enhanced tissue ingrowth and COLI deposition, as compared to pristine scaffolds.
