Since 1966 surveys have been done for the geomorphological map of The Netherlands, scale 1 :50000. Till now 20 maps have been designed (not yet published). In this article the system of the legend is discussed together with applications of this detailed geomorphological map for geological and soil maps. Furthermore, an example is given to assess the value of the geomorphological pattern of the landscape in the floodplains of the main Dutch rivers. |
